He is one of the pioneers of children’s heart transplants in Germany: Prof. Heinrich Netz. The first infant heart transplantation outside the USA took place in 1988 under his leadership. From 1992 until his departure at the end of 2015, the renowned paediatric cardiologist of the University of Munich Großhadern Campus played a pivotal role in establishing one of the largest centres for paediatric heart transplantation in Germany.
